RODEO ENTERTAINMENT

JESSE LARSON

Since 2006, Jesse Larson has been entertaining Rodeo crowds. His simple “Funny Man” routines have matured into a sophisticated and finely honed entertainment extravaganza for crowds from Lake Michigan, to Glacier National Park, down to Cody, WY, and back again. He has worked almost all of the largest non-pro rodeos in the Upper Midwest.

Since he has been working these great shows he has been voted by his peers to work some of the finest rodeo and bull riding finals.

PAYTON ROUTIER

Payton Routier, 13, who lives in Buffalo, S.D., will be one of the specialty acts for the 30th annual Hastings pro rodeo.

The limber and agile cowgirl trick rides, a Western art form that involves performing stunts while riding a horse, as the equine gallops around the arena at full speed.

According to a press release, it’s beauty, grace, adrenaline and danger, all from the back of a horse, with sparkly sequined costumes.

It’s something Payton has been doing since she was 4 years old. She saw a trick rider at a rodeo she attended, as her mom competed, and fell in love with it.

She went home, trying to replicate the tricks she saw on her pony. And she bugged her parents, Riley and Jessica Routier, telling them she wanted to be a trick rider.

At first, they ignored her requests, thinking she would outgrow it.

But she didn’t, so they bought her the right kind of saddle and paid for her to take lessons.

And it grew from there. See her August 20th - 22nd at the PRCA Oregon Trail Rodeo in Hastings, Nebraska.
